Father-Daughter Dance Songs
The Father-Daughter song is a chance for the Bride to spend a special moment with her father (or a male who has taken the role of her father-figure). The Daddy Song, as it is otherwise known, is usually played and danced to subsequent to the Bride and Groom’s first dance as a married couple, and allows a few minutes to honor your father in front of your guests. Fathers & Daughters can select the song together by browsing the many pages of suggestions on this website, or go ahead and surprise your him by choosing a song (can also be multiple songs) that he sang to you, or meant connected you in some way when you were younger. This list also includes selections for those rocky father and daughter relationships. Instead of including lyrics, as many other sites do out there, we elected to describe every song suggestion and show you why we believe it deserves to be called a Father and Daughter song.

This video contains a father/daughter dance during a Wedding we DJ’ed a few months ago. The bride selected this song to share with her father.
Background Information: The next big moment at most receptions comes when the father or important male figure has his dance with the bride. Traditionally, a father gave his daughter to her new husband on her wedding day, and the symbolism of that tradition continues in many of today’s wedding ceremonies. The father daughter dance is a moment for the wedding party and guests to celebrate the love a father has for his daughter as they share a special moment together. Great father daughter songs include Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle, Stand By Me by Ben E. King, My Girl by The Temptations, and Through the Years by Kenny Rogers.
